Psychotherapy
Individual therapy is also known as individual psychotherapy or individual counseling. Typically, the client and clinician meet one-on-one for about 45 minutes to 1 hour on a weekly basis.

Psychotherapy is a collaborative treatment based on the relationship between an individual and a mental health professional. It provides a supportive environment that allows you to talk openly with someone who is objective, neutral and nonjudgmental. You and your therapist will work together to identify and change the thought and behavior patterns that are keeping you from feeling your best.

The clinician will work with the client to help them explore their feelings, work through life challenges, identify aspects of themselves and their lives that they wish to change, and set goals to help them work towards these changes. A client might see a clinician for only a few sessions, or the client may attend individual therapy sessions for a year or longer. The amount of time spent in therapy depends on the needs of the client as well as their goals.

I believe in a multi-disciplinary approach and use effective and documented treatment approaches to help patients. Family involvement in the treatment of child and adolescent patients is a critical piece to ensure success of children with academic, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.
